HOV

For the second edition of THEØFFICE podcast series, we present a live set by HOV, recorded on May 17th, 2025, during a closing set that sent Scanner into full-blown collective hypnosis. HOV is an electronic music producer, live performer, and curator deeply involved in Armenia’s underground scene. His improvised sets use a deep library of sounds developed at dk.tsk studio and Scanner Room. This particular set fully translates that spirit into a moment that left a lasting imprint on the room.

This set is an accumulation of everything I’ve absorbed over the years as a raver, a producer, and a curator. It holds the energy of groovy, hypnotic, high-intensity rhythms, touching on psychedelic and dubby moods, with glimpses of classic 909 rides and acid 303 lines which bring a feeling of timelessness. One vocal phrase repeats throughout the set, spoken in Western Armenian, a language on the verge of disappearing. Using it is a message in itself. The phrase translates to “the main intention is THAT”, keeping it open to interpretation in the dancer’s inner world.

Scanner remains a sanctuary for me where there is no past, no future, only presence.
